Numero Uno:
I really like how the duck on the left is in front of the light; I feel like it gives it a good outline and contrast against the background. I think that the two images should have been taken with more significantly different angles to provide different perspectives. I am not entirely sure if I am fond of the left photo's background being so much fuzzier than that of the right photo. However, I do like both of the backgrounds are very simple because I feel like it brings a lot of focus to the actual duck. The left image seems a little bit unbalanced due to the bright white coming through the windows versus the dark portion on the other half of the photo; the duck does break it up a little bit, but I feel like a different angle might have made for a more successful sense of balance in the photograph. I like that the duck is on the counter because it brings subtle detail into the photo that adds dimension and interest. I also really like the big clock in the back of the right photo, because it adds interest to and breaks up the monotony of the background. Overall, I think that this image captures a sort of childish point of view; the fact that the rubber duck is the subject matter and that it seems big like it would to a child makes it seem like the viewer is looking through the eyes of a young kid.
Numbaaa Twoo:
I love this picture! I feel like the position of the man in the left image is very interesting and humorous. Also, I feel like the colors of both photos are well balanced and vibrant. Although the background is in focus mostly, I don't feel like it really takes away from the images or distracts the viewer. The splash in the right image is a great sequence photo because it is immense contrast from the almost still water in the left photo. I wish that both photos were taken from exactly the same angle or completely different angles. I feel like the angle of the left photo is very strong and adds depth to the image without providing too much information to comprehend; that being said, I also feel like the angle could have been just as, if not more, successful if it was turned a little more to the left, excluding the rocks on the right, cutting down some of the bright white of the shed, and putting the subject more towards the thirds' divider. I think that the water splash in the right image is really strong because it has very detailed stop motion; you can see, rather clearly, the individual movement of the water droplets in the air. I think both images could have been taken from a little lower angle to add a different perspective to the image.
Third time's the charm:
The first thing I noticed when I looked at †his image was the opposites of the two photographs; the upper image is dark on the inside and light on the outside while the other image is the opposite. I really like this because the dog is pretty much in the same position in both images and I feel like without the opposite light-dark correlation, the images would not be dissimilar enough to amount interest. The lower image is overexposed in the dog's face which takes away from his expression. I feel that a little bit of overexposure in this image could have been handled because of the detail in the back window. Both images are interesting because they offer stop motion inside the vehicle and blur motion outside the vehicle. I really like the upper image because you can see the shadow of the tree which adds extra detail and tad more subtle information to the background. Like the photograph before, I wish that this sequence consisted of two images from the same angle. Because the two images are so similar, I think it would be beneficial to have them at the same angle or drastically different angles. The detail of the interior of the car, even though in shadow, adds texture to the photo.
